About Us
Melanin Stars mentoring program is a community-based program established to support young people in their everyday life challenges, career journey and passion. We focus on developing the competence and character of the mentee.
Statistics reveal that there is a black achievement gap, that is a result of institutional racism, low teacher expectations, high exclusion rates and a lack of targeted support. However, research also shows that when communities have had the investment, support and resource incredible things have happened that the wider society has benefited from.
Melanin Stars offers equipped and caring volunteers who are dedicated to raising the aspirations of young people and helping them fulfil their potential.

Are you a Mentee Ages 11-21 years old in need of support, do you face life challenges that prevents you from reaching your goal/s? If so, then why not sign up to our Melanin Stars Mentorship Program so we can assist you with your development. Whether you want to learn a new skill or enhance on your current skill we can help.
We provide a structured-based program and resources as part of our program, however your mentoring sessions can be tailored to your needs, so why not unlock your potential with the help of a caring and professional Mentor.

If you are interested in being a voluntary Mentor on this program, then sign up today and share your knowledge and experiences with our Mentees which will untimely contribute towards their development. Together we can help a Mentee reach their goal/s. We are also committed to ensure that our volunteers receive the support they require.
